Chemical Peels
Ancient Greece, Rome and Egypt were, actually, the forerunners of the modern day cosmetic and skin care industries. Red ochre pigment, henna, kohl, body oils and perfumes were only a few of the products used to pamper both men and women alike. And among the most beneficial skin treatments, the chemical peel also made its earliest appearance.
WHAT IS THE PROCEDURE?
First your face will be cleansed and the product applied. A short period, from five to ten minutes, will create a burning, stinging sensation, similar to a sunburn. The reaction will, obviously, depend upon the level of the treatment. Cold compresses may be used to reduce the discomfort.
ARE THERE SIDE EFFECTS?
Again, depending upon your specific treatment, there will be some redness and scaling. The skin will crust and peel within three to seven days.
Our skin specialist will provide you with detailed information, precautions and after care to meet your individual needs and alleviate whatever discomfort might develop.
The chemical peel is one of the least invasive of the “non-invasive” procedures.
WHAT IS A CHEMICAL PEEL ?WHAT IS A CHEMICAL PEEL ?
The chemical peel literally removes (or peels) the damaged, outer layer of your skin to reveal a newer, fresher, more supple layer of skin below. Chemical peels are an all in one “anti-aging” treatment , addressing multiple skin.
Chemical peels also break up melanin pigment, reducing hyperpigmentation. It also addresses texture, pore size and fine wrinkles while resurfacing the upper layers of skin.
With our dermatologists at Dr Karishma Aesthetics, we will understand your skin type, texture and your expectations. Then you can select the right Skin Peel Treatment product, and the number of treatments required ( from one to six) to reach your desired look and feel.
While the level and depth of Chemical peels may be different, the procedure remains the same.
