She has trained in Aesthetic Body Contouring, Breast and Face Procedures, as well as 3D and 4D liposuction with renowned plastic surgeon, Dr Sanjay Parashar at the Cocoona Aesthetic and Day Care Centre, Dubai. She underwent specialised training in Rhinoplasty (Nose job) with the world-famous Dr Nazim Cerkes at the Cosmed Clinic, Istanbul, in Turkey. She trained in Microsurgical Onco-Breast Reconstruction and Aesthetic Breast related procedures with Dr. Venkat Ramakrishnan at St Andrew’s Centre of Plastic surgery Chelmsford, Essex, in the U.K. She has also had hands on professional Hair Transplant training at The Vasa Hair Academy, Baroda, with Dr. Sanjay Vasa and attended an Ear Reconstruction Workshop at Bombay and Nair Hospital, Mumbai, with Dr. Firmin Francois and Dr. Alexander Marchac.

Dr Karishma is recognised as an expert in the field of aesthetic and cosmetic surgery and has presented papers at several major international and national conferences. In 2018, she was the youngest ISAPS Faculty at the Zurich ISAPS Congress- Art and Aesthetics 2018, organised by the Swiss Aesthetic Society, where she made a presentation on Rhinosurgery (Nose job).

Dr Karishma is also passionate about contributing to the furtherance of aesthetic and cosmetic surgery in India and bringing state-of-the-art knowledge to the country. In 2017 and 2018, she organised, for the first time in India, a Facial Aesthetic Cadaver Dissection Course, under the aegis of the IAAPS, in Bangalore, conducted by renowned Rhinoplasty Surgeons Dr Enrico Robotti from Italy and Dr Nazim Cerkes from Turkey.

Much sought after as an academic faculty member as well, Dr Karishma also loves to be involved with upcoming plastic surgeons and takes theoretical and clinical sessions as well as seminars for postgraduate students in plastic surgery, whenever she has the time.
